I have received my pop top canvas from Helmut yesterday. If someone is interested I can take some pics.
I have also received his big top tent, the quality of manufacturing is fantastic in every detail ! He is also a great guy to deal with. Replies promptly to questions and gives a good update on the follow-up of the order.
I am eager to use his tent when nice temperatures are back !  |

Yes pictures please. Where are you located. Helmut emailed me a week or so ago said there was a delay as he had to have some things corrected in the final product so he would not be shipping till January.

I am located in Europe.
I placed my order back in September an got the last pop top canvas from that batch.
It is worth waiting for Helmut's products!
Any specific area on the canvas you want detailed pictures of? |

I think for an overview for the collective here it would be nice to get as many detailed pictures as you feel comfortable adding. All 4 sides, screens and stiching maybe? It would be nice to use to compare to what's available here in the states. Only Helmut does these correctly.

They recent run of these had some flaws so vendor would not ship. He's all about quality it appears. A new batch should be ready at the end of the month.

Howdy all,
Is there a website where one could look at photos and check out the cloth pop-top material, pricing, etc for Helmut's products?
Another question, perhaps some of you have done this chore before? Is there a how-to thread about splicing a Westfalia pop-top section onto a non-pop-top Splitty? I might be trying this someday and would love to check out how to best do this... Thanks!

Helmut was recommended to me by srfndoc and this thread. I'm not sure if he has a website but here in the gallery there are some pics of his tents.

I don't want to quote a figure as I last inquired over a year ago. I would just email him, he's quick to get back with you. At the time I thought the price was very reasonable for what you were getting and you can actually use it without fear of damaging it.

Hi,
These were the prices in September 2015 for the tents and pop tops:
Price: Big Top Tent "common Style" 1350,-€
Big Top Tent "rare" and "rarest of raes" 1250,-€
Pop top canvas with white net 180,-€
The "common style" being the tent with the multiple colors on the front flap.
For this price you get the tent, poles, pegs, gutter rail and all the respective bags.
Everything is really top notch. |
