Nope. Not even on a fastback. The search function is your friend.

How hard is it to use the freaking search function on this site? Seems like Everett might just have to dumb it down for some people. Rolling Eyes

I made the switch to T3 and I'm not looking back. If you can get one, get it! I'm selling Bridget so I can get another notch or square.

now that we got all that out of the way - a modified towbar will fit a Type 3 -- you just need to look at the two beams to see the difference...

Is Bridget your wife? I didn't think that was legal. Think

I've spent enough money on her that you would think she was my wife. A wife might be cheaper.

Here's why it's a redundant question. About 15 seconds using the search feature could have pulled up these links for you:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=123742
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54836

Links within some of these threads would lead you to other things:
http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=35892
http://www.fastback-type3.com/images/towbar.htm
including an adapter so that you can use a type 1 towbar on a type 3:

Do you understand now?

Everett,

Maybe you should consider adding a section about towbars in the Type 3 FAQ, not that it would reduce the number of times the question is asked, but then we could simply state "Read the FAQ". Or maybe put a "Most Used Threads" sticky up like Mr. Breeze did in the Bay Window Forum.
