Neil let me know he was interested in a part I had up for sale here and as soon as I gave him my payment info, he submitted his payment by Paypal. Now that may seem like a small thing, but if you're a seller it's GREAT ! I certainly appreciate it. Talkin' the talk, walkin' the walk......thanks Neil! _________________ Robert K

Shipped quickly, packaged professionally, and the fuel sender was exactly as described and at a great price. He even threw in screws and a gasket. I would deal with this seller again without hesitation. Thanks Neil!

I finally got that '72 Notchback I purchased from Neil in 2006.
It's even better than I thought, with tons of extra parts! FAST delivery too!

You could have had it years earlier if you would have come and got it. _________________

I have had numerous dealings with Notchback---both as a buyer and a seller.
Every deal has been smooth as silk including the most recent. Thanks again, Neil. |

it's strange that sundogkid is posting his feedback all over hell and back... except for here on the Samba; his one attempt at telling the story here was removed at his request because so many people called him on his bullshit, he whined to the mods and had it deleted...
Neil is a straight-shooter and the story that is being told is completely skewed...
don't believe the squelchings of this whine-bag... _________________ póg mo thóin

That's why I posted it here as I couldn't find anything on it. It seems odd that the two stories should vary so much. |
agreed -- I've dealt with Neil for quite a while now and understand that he holds himself to fairly high principles... I'll stand up for him, even if he feels that defending himself compromises them...

Well then, add what you know as you seem to have the inside scoop. I personally think the seller being described is the best to answer but let's move this along. How does a car that should pass inspection end up being what is described? 3 year old pictures? Through rust? Bondo? Anyone that knows their car or the things they sell shouldn't be employing these tactics.
What's the truth, what's fiction?
By the way, Devon with an "i" please. |
as an aside, that car would have passed inspection here and a number of other places that require "inspections"...
pinhole rust is commonplace in battery trays...
and if you've never looked under a car, how can you see if there is a problem under it?
but I agree -- we should move on... _________________ póg mo thóin

From what I understand, Neil was asked if the car would pass "an inspection". Having lived in Idaho, the inspection would be if the VIN matches the title, and does the car pass emissions (depending on local requirements). The car wound up having some pinholes under the battery- typical, not structural, and probably not even noticeable from underneath. The bumper mount repair? Probably not noticed, and again, not structural.
You can't expect a seller to know what other municipalities and countries require as far as "an inspection". That was a nice car. Idaho cars are among the driest in the USA.
WHY didn't the buyer have it inspected by someone who was familiar with his province's requirements? That was pure stupidity. "Trust, but verify", especially where it's a "do- or- die" situation.
If I buy and import a grey market car and I can't get it titled here in the USA because it won't pass Federal safety or emissions standards... is that the seller's fault???
This is ridiculous. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
