What I can say is that from the whining I got from Ben when Everett agreed to take down his adds from the Samba until he sorted out my order, it was clear that he got most of his VW business from here.
Maybe this will be the end of Ben, we can only hope. |

& sorry to hear eivind is selling his car
money aside, Ben has ruined a few peoples year! |
Not bust, but at least he was banned from The Samba. He has branched out to the American muscle market. He needed a new flock to fleece.
How are you getting on? Engine together and running yet? |
havent even started
i bought 2165 built in the uk by one of those low profile, big reputation builders, it was dynoed at 180 bhp, it has done 2000 miles , so was used, however, its in my bug and is awsome, the waether is bad here and the roads slippery, so my first experiences have been....interesting , but my face hurts from grinning.
im going to have the 2276 rebuilt, ive worked a deal with a UK builder, it will be cheaper to fly him to me than sent the parts to him, so hes comming to give me and a few buuddies engine building lessons, and i get me engine rebuilt too, thats planned for March,
ill end up with two engines, so eivind/sandowner if you want one contact me! |

A link to his website still exists in his profile.
As he is banned, perhaps that could be removed also as it is a form of advertisement. |

Good to know you are grinning and sliding you way around at least. Cool guy to make a housecall and show you a few things while he's at it. Good luck man. _________________ Bobby

|
|
Imagine you guys...
I bought a pair of Weber 48 IDA from Ben, TDC Autoparts, and it came without two little holes inside its body... How in the hell would see that at the exact moment it arrives ?
Well, after 3 month working in my VW Bug, the time to use the carbs came out and for our surprise we saw this damn carb defective.
Besides that two missing Idles, gasket for another carb, that wouldn't fit mine, an used plastic Float and one of the Throttle Valve completed damaged.
What did I hear from him ?
- RedlineWeber got a lot of them like that and that 30 days has gone so he couldn't do anything.
Is that what a Reseller should have done ? Not here in my country. I would at least tried to help and exchange for something usefull or even get back all the money. Would never sell a crap like I received.
Hope he pays in other way at the right time of his life.
ps: I have insisted on the Italian made ones and received those craps made in china.
Regards,

The worst part is that I had to spend US$285,00 to fix the damaged parts I received for a Weber clone.
No problem... He will pay for that at the right time. _________________ Sortino @ Sao Paulo/Brazil

Can somaone give me a few tips on getting my money back from TDC.
I'd ordered a 2165cc and of course after reading this thread, realised that I've been taken for a ride. No response to my emails now for the last month. _________________ '66 21 window samba |

Sorry to hear someone else got taken in by TDC. How long ago did you place an order with him?
I paid for the parts with my Visa Debit Card. First I called my bank (Lloyds) and explained what happened. They asked me to write to them to confirm the problem and I enclosed a 36 page summary of the email correspondance with Ben. Within 2 weeks they had credited my account with every last penny.
You have to show that Ben has not delivered the parts in a reasonable period of time and make a claim within 120 days. However, despite the fact Ben has been stringing me along with excuses for over 8 months, I was able to show that I was prepared to accept the delay and therefore the 120 days is effectively rolled over.
If you PM me with your email address, I will forward you a copy of the letter I sent to the bank together with the email summary if it would help. Some of it makes rather amusing reading in hindsight!
Good luck. |

I can't believe the front of this guy. Obviously has no morals! Trying to call my bluff, saying that he's deeply depressed and going to top himself! Not someone you want to do business with!
I'm going to make sure that as many people this side of the pond know not to go anywhere near him. _________________ '66 21 window samba |
