Isn't that some serious cancer on many areas? Especially the kitchen panel.

1990 multivan for $6k in San francisco. Looks pretty clean. "Needs work" but it could be a deal at that price.

Any thoughts on this? Seems like the cabinetry would add a ton of weight over factory options, and then the Canadian cancer of course.

If it was truly "professionally" done - could be a GREAT deal!

I actually took a look at this van and test drove it. The cancer was so bad in one area you could stick your hand through. He went through all the trouble of swapping a CA approved ej22 but still paid a shady smog guy. The motor ran great but shift linkage needed some work because it would grind... I walked

Could be an interesting project diesel.

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/6121135879.html

1982 turbo diesel vanagon L - $5800 (deep creek)

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

1982 Volkswagen vanagon L

fuel: diesel
odometer: 07053
paint color: brown
title status: missing
transmission: manual

Sadly I have to sell my project due to moving. But I need to start with this; I am in the last stages of retrieving the title. Only interested in serious inquiries who are willing to wait for title.

This is a very unique reviera camper with a very uncommon right side cabinet (as well as left side) usually only left on most vw vans produced.

Body: great shape, a bit of rust under a couple windows, minor surface rust around corner and sides, and a bit of rust in the front clip. Otherwise, frame and corners of van are immaculate. Outriggers, doglegs, floors..all amazing.

Motor: Motor was replaced by previous owner.. it now has a TURBO block and head...just doesnt uave a turbo installed. These were known to be very slow..but with the turbo and a tranny upgrade.. you can easily cruise 65.

refreshed the motor as far as glowplugs, fuel filter, rebuilt injection pump, fuel lines,
**new fuel tank***
All timing components..waterpump, belt, tensioner.. and gave it all a great cleaning. Looks very good.
Starts and idles very well but I was just at the part where the fine tuning comes in. NOT road worthy..

Tranny shifts into all 4 and reverse when running and not running.

NEEDS:

injection pump tuned..
Couple tires cleaned and remounted..maybe replaced.
Brakes checked, and canvas replaced if you want a good seal.

INTERIOR!
the interior really impressed me when I cleaned it up..
All original with the middle stove and counter missing unfortunately. The plus is the cabinets, hinges, headliner and columns are in really good shape. Dash is uncracked, has a.c. knows but newer motor removed a.c.
Has area for auxiliary battery under driver. Carpet is discolored but all there!

Come take a look and see if you're interested. I'll entertain good offers.

I hope this one doesn't get parted out..
the unfortunate aspect of low pricing it parting out.
I'd have it if it were closer to me. so let us know if anyone here buys it..

That is some serious rust though....
I agree it likely can still be used and functional, but I wouldnt want to put much money into it to keep it running given the rust (that lower seam where a westy fridge usually rots out is terrible on this weekender)

...I dont know Dan....
