Hi all
My Notchback went in a few weeks ago for what we thought would be minor rust work... little did we know!
Uncovered some pretty nasty previous repairs... the 'ol wire mesh covered with fiberglass and expanda-foam behind.. 
But its all fixed now.. all that's left is a bit of paint and putting it back together! We've gotten rid of all the rust we could find!
Its fun pulling cars apart... its getting them back together that's the hard part!
Eek...
Less eek.. but eek nonetheless!
Ooh.. daylight!
It seems there was a leak on one side of the the back window, that soaked that foam stuff that was under the trim... hmm.. dampness pressed against metal for 20 odd years... GREAT... not
How she looks now.. much better! Nothing but good solid metal!
Where that big hole was..
Various other dents and patches of rust were fixed too.. it'll be much nicer driving her now knowing she's not going to rust out from under me! |

Ay, Yi, Yi, Maria... Don't get me started on previous owners/ body paint people and the bullcrap they do.  I just got done with one of the worst abortions I've ever torn into, my Type 34. There's a lot of satisfaction in knowing things are finally done PROPERLY though.

nice work, josie.....ps I have those mirrors you're after, rear view, and external rear view, both from a '70 notch. You can have them for aus$25 the pair plus 5 postage. or just the external one for 20 posted. The passenger side is hard to get because they were factory options that were rarely selected. Best way to get one is from USA, because being left hand drive, they are standard drivers side over there.....

WOW!! Those pics remind me of what I went thru on my 65 Notch. Only those weren't as bad as mine were. Mine were thru all 3 layers on both sides, and a little bigger hole too. 
I swear, some people think bondo is a permant repair.

I got my 58 bus home, and started pealing bondo off. They didnt even bother to scuff the paint underneath. And under it at the bottom of the doors, and the rockers, was all the rust.
