My gearbox tubes have been brutally cut off so I have ro repair hem, can anybody tell me the total length of the tubes and the thread size för the endings

M18x1.5

don't expect the threaded bungs sitting square in those tubes. They aren't! the tubes point downward and the bungs are welded accordingly to the position of the transmission mount.

I'll get you the length a little later.

this is from my BD build but should be the same issue on a 55 Wolfsburg.

We were discussing how the rear frame horns are pointing down from the chassis level. if you look closely you can see how the tap is not perpendicular to the actual frame horns. it is rather the same angle as the horizontal chassis planes. the frame horns definitely pointing down from factory.

actual pics of my Sept 55 WB panel.
dimensions are not the same L/R measured to the brake hose bracket.
rather measure total length back to the torsion bar tube.
Be aware of angle between bolts and frame horns as mentioned before !

No it has been repainted, I think it’s L21 gray from factory
