Notch engine lid clip help

The engine lid on Anne doesn't work, the part at the top of the trunk doesn't stick out far enough (it seems) to go between the wire clips in the lid. Anybody else have that problem? Are there any pics of working lids that I can compare mine to?

looks to me like the wire is in wrong. The arch should be on top and
out.
