how much a complete, nos vw unit could be worth ?? an unit with the red caps still on it ...
what is the life span of an engine equipped with it ?? i have been told that destroys the engines where it is installed .....
thank you !!

When you say complete. Is that everything?
Blower
upper and lower pully
carb linkage
carb spacer
oiler
air intake
If it`s just the blower. It`s not worth alot. $500 or so if it`s unused and in perfect shape. Less if it needs rebuilding. It`s all the other stuff that adds to the value.
Complete set up $1,500-2,000
And no it will not hurt the engine if you are putting it on a good engine. If it`s a tired old engine then it might. It only adds about 10-15 HP |

As a unit to use as opposed to one for display purposes I wouldn't pay more than $2000.
If it's been sat on a shelf for 40 years you'll still have to take it apart even if it's NOS.
Seals dry up and become brittle, bearings ?? You'd probably be better off buying a fully restored kit from a specialist restorer.
For a display model it would need to be in mint condition, all parts complete and unmarked, all the brochures and instructions in the original box. You might get $2500 for a mint kit.
$2000-6000? only if it's gold plated _________________ John.

Man that's ALOT of cheddar for the 36 judson stuff. I've already completed 2 set's over a period of 10 year's for just under $650-$750 scouring the POMONA swapmeet for parts all these year's and sold them to my buddies for just $1K. $2K on up is crazeee especially when 90% of the time you'll have to go through an NOS set anyway to check/replace gasket's and such. Hell I remember an ALL ORIGINAL ghia at the last Kelly Park for about $2500.00 (Not sure on the price) but definitely below $3K and it was fitted with a judson Guess it's time to hunt down JUDSON stuff instead of EMPI and sell them CHEAP to bring down the price eh DARE ME _________________ ** HELL YEAH I'LL SELL IT TO YOU**

I can find ANYTHING for cheap if I wait patiently for it (like I alway's do) and I've come across many NOS 36 & 40 horse Judson kit's for half of what you got your set for but just not willing to spend that amount I know enough that when I see a good deal on any judson part I buy it cuz in time it will be complete I'm never in a hurry for stuff which is why alot of the good deal's come my way ! I'm not trying to start anything with you Ricardo as I know you are a great person to deal with and make excellent hard to find reproduction part's for the early split enthusiast so "THANKYOU" for that and I'm sure you'll get close to your asking price because alot of people won't wait or don't have the time to hunt around for the parts so they bite the bullet and "GO FOR IT" shit brutha I've done that on a few thing's I just had to have right now . If you do a search in the classified's under judson and look and ad it up you'll see what I'm talking about a few of them are OBO ads so you just might get it even cheaper _________________ ** HELL YEAH I'LL SELL IT TO YOU**

John, that $6000 includes the price of the two motors you're gonna fry with that POS's attempt to make more HP. _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |

Bob...seems to me you're speaking from bitter experience. Leadfoot strikes again. |
Just giving you Judson guys a bad time and keeping the price down at the same time. _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |

Another thing to consider when paying a premium for any "NOS" part is once it is installed it is no longer "NOS" Also, If you are planning on using that NOS Judson you should still have it rebuilt like John said which will add even more $ to the equation. |
