|
|
Anyone know some good camping spots in the Tahoe region where we could camp? We have a dog so that has to be taken into consideration. I would like to go fly-fishing, but it's not a must-do. Good hiking would be nice though. We are thinking mid-October.
Thanks,

My wife and I loved this place...
http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=504
...but I see that it closes Oct 1st.
It's a very small, basic, State campground ($12/night) with showers.
Walking distance to Tahoe City and markets, shopping, etc..
Great bike path along the Truckee river!
We rode downstream, and up into Squaw Valley.
..took the tram to high camp!
Great trip.
I'm sure some of the private campgrounds are open later.
Enjoy the trip!! _________________ ...some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints... |

Camp for free in the cassino parking lots, then go for day trips. |
