Well, it's nice to HAVE the original 912E motor mount bar, engine tin, and factory frame mounts.
Of course, anything can be fabbed if you have the skill and time.
Use a 914 flywheel and clutch.
Exhaust is kind of up to you. Only a masochist would want the 912E thermal reactors/ manifolds.
A 1972-74 bus exhaust will work pretty good.
I did one of these conversions once with a 1966 911. (The owner didn't want the expense of the 911 engine) At that time is used a 1974 bus motor. I welded up sheet metal from 911 and bus pieces. I know the owner drove it very many years.
I was going to put a 912E engine into my 67 912 Targa, but have now changed my mind.
I acquired all the bits to do it including an (approx) 30k mile 912E engine. I mean to put it on Ebay sometiime, but it's got about 25 years of shop dust that needs cleaning before photos! I bought all the brackets and stuff at the Porsche dealer. Frame mounts, air cleaner, ECU holder.
