Engine jack is a harbor freight ATV jack, with a custom wood adapter plate designed by another clever Samba member.

I like this feature:
...which lets you adjust the fore/aft tilt so aligning it for the final shove is a no-pain process, important to us old farts.
Engine was from a Bug (with that awful oil pump stud mount for the rear engine carrier) and both wrong exhaust and HEs. It had the wrong air cleaner, with the stock mount halfway cut out of the engine bay. I found a stock mount so I can use the right air cleaner. The HEs and muffler are being replaced with correct units while it is out, too.
Wrong tin, distributor, and carb. All but the carb were/are being replaced so it will soon run and cool right! |

Nice 69 SR.
And bite me on the winter pic.
It's been raining everyday for the last week here! _________________ I have learned over the years.

Had to roll it out to play musical cars in the garage, but this time it did it under its own power for the first time since the 70s. _________________ '60 Canadian Standard, '64 Bug, another '64 Bug, '66 Bug, '69 Sunroof Bug, '69 GT3 Bug, '71 Super, '72 Super, '73 Canadian Custom, '74 Love Bug, '83 Mexi Bug, '85 Cabrio, '94 Mexi Bug, '99 New Beetle, '02 New Beetle Turbo S, '03 New Beetle VR6. Similar in condition and time in retirement to my 66 beetle. Got mine running last winter for the first time since the early 80's.

Very nice! I'm waiting for the snow to melt (and a bit of rain to clean the roads) so I can bring mine to a car wash and give it a proper scrub down. _________________ '60 Canadian Standard, '64 Bug, another '64 Bug, '66 Bug, '69 Sunroof Bug, '69 GT3 Bug, '71 Super, '72 Super, '73 Canadian Custom, '74 Love Bug, '83 Mexi Bug, '85 Cabrio, '94 Mexi Bug, '99 New Beetle, '02 New Beetle Turbo S, '03 New Beetle VR6. First day of ownership in May of 2020.
I detail the resurrection of my bus on “Wilson the VW bus”, available on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/show/7MAq3NyMAGIKO4raSF1VAW and also on Apple podcast and Google podcast.

My parent's new house in Tappahannock is officially done! My Kombi and dad's 59 had been staying up the road at a neighbor's house until construction of the new shop was finished, and they finally came to their new home last week.
Here they are in the new driveway,
And finally inside their new home!
