My AC was resuscitated this past fall. Went from not being cold and only working on two speeds to being great.

But yesterday, nada. Turned the on switch and tried all the speeds and got nothing. Checked both fuses in the rear and they are fine.

I did install a few new things and was accessing the fuse panel to use the P and G power options. I don’t _think_ I disconnected anything. Is there anything in the dash or fuse panel that relates back to those controls?

Thanks all.

The AC is getting power from the alternator.
Relay 53 in the front is for 2nd speed at the radiator.

Sounds like you’re saying it’s possible I disconnected a wire on the back of the relay during my hunt for power.

Thanks, a worthy tip.

For 86-88 A/C the control power comes from main fuse panel fuse #12

This fuse feeds power to spades G1 and G3 on the back of the panel.
The A/C switch power wire is supposed to be plugged into G1 or G3.
If you moved any wires that went to any G spades you may have caused the issue.
Each G spade pin can be for a different purpose while all of the P spade pins have the same purpose.

Bentley page 97.68 has the best diagram of the fuse panel layout including the numbering of the various pins.
This fuse panel layout diagram is valid for all 86-91 Vanagons.

Excellent, thank you.

I'll check the fuse and then check my wiring!
