sorry to go slightly off the topic but are they worth having? do they keep you cool in the summer? would it be worth spending less money on a nice period fan and getting just as cool or are they really good? |

I have seen them with asking prices up to $500, depending on condition.
The most I have paid for one is $350 but I would pay more for certain colors or an NOS unit. |
I saw a 12v unit (in primer), sell on here for $600, (from drew c./hi-$$). I paid $400 for an og paint (swr), perfect condition, NOS switch unit for my bus. It killed me having to paint it to match my bus. I bought another one in og dove in very good cond. for $225, which I thought was a steal. I sold that one in one day for $375, and I'm kinda sorry I did. |

A "cool" accessory that really doesn't do that much. I just got a deal on a set from a friend for $300. I had sold these to him @ 8 yrs ago when I got divorced. I originally bought them from Chuck D. back in '96 at a SOTO meet in Long Beach. He had 3 of them on the back of his ladder truck. I bought the best set at $125. Boy how prices have gone up! _________________ 1970 Lotus White Panel

Many years ago I let my Dad sell the set out of his bus at Bug O Rama for 65.00 and they worked. Someone kick me, go ahead, I deserve it. I still do not know why I did not buy them from him or just sweet talk him out of them. |

Does a set of ambulance fans for a flip seat seem like a fair trade?

are you referring to the front seat on an SO-34 westy? if so, then no. ambulance fans are easily twice as valuable as a flipseat. ambulance fans are way more desireable than a flipseat also. ambulance fns will bolt into any post barndoor bus, while the flipseat is only good for SO-34 westies, most of which still have their original seat. i.e. huge market desireable item versus severely limited market for a not very exciting item. _________________ .

yes, yes I did.
have you ever heard the saying "if you throw enough shit at a wall, some of it will stick."?
I thought if I asked this twice I would get more answers, them ambulance fans aren't cheap. you don't have to answer both posts though. |
