I always new that the top of the transmission bell housing was likely to foul the rear bottom corner of the parcel tray but now that I have the engine mounted I see the throttle cable tube is in a worse position. Am I right to assume my best option is to make a fiberglass modification to the body? I have searched The Samba a bit but don't see much information on this. Would love to see pictures of what others have done.
Throttle tube sits higher than top of bell housing
Witness mark on the rear edge of parcel shelf from when the body was mounted last _________________ Hugh

That is a good point. I think I would have to push mine up about 1.5"...do you think yours sagged that much without the brackets?

I use the tin that goes across the bellhousing and has a hole for the dog house exit. It has a hole in it for the throttle cable and gives it some support.
It also help tie all the cooling tin together.
I have my coil mounted on it also.....along with it supporting my FI wiring harness.

I may not be looking at this right...but it looks like your throttle tube goes through the shroud lower on the opposite side of the oil cooler than stock? Is that an FI location? Just curious.

Just got these mounted and balanced...the rears look bigger than I expected. Should be fine.
Front 215/60R14 on 14x6 wheels
Rear 255/70R15 on 15x8 wheels

Thought I would share an idea that I had following confirmation from Winnie that I do not have an authentic Manx. The tubes under the sides are different? I created these models and may get them 3D printed. I may even try hand at casting them in aluminium. One is a nose badge and the other is a tail badge...

It does go on the other side....It's a 75-79 FI shroud and I use it because I used to have the German FI Intake. I have since built my own intake and modified the Throttle Body linkage to work with my setup and use the same shroud exit.
You can easily bend that tube down after the shroud to get it lower if you need to.
I built my own out of some brake line. _________________

One of my excuses, there are many, for taking so long to build this buggy is that I am working out of a single car attached garage. Some times I have to be creative with the use of space, when I make noise, when I spray paint....etc. Most of the process has involved having parts mobile. Pictured below I have the cage on a repurposed dolly originally used to hold the pan. This way I can roll the pan, now that it sits on its own, out and work on the cage then move everything back inside. Also, my fiberglass body is hanging from the ceiling....
Who else here has built up their kit car in a single car garage? How did you deal with lack of space?

Seats partially upholstered...not perfect but good enough. Done with an old singer sewing machine.
