DOKA - ccan it be imported to USA?

I saw it for sale online. Can the 89 DOKA turbodiesel be imported to USA? What modifications would have to be made?

You can bring in a Doka from Canada, when I bought mine the P.O. had a letter from VWCA which stated it met all U.S. saftey standards, plus I pre-paid a VW dealer here to install a speedo that was in MPH, that was it. Now getting a letter is the hard part,as VWCA is'nt giving them out any more. There are other ways, there are importers who will do it for a few$$. Do a search here, you should find all the info you need.
