I'd like to know this ? After building millions of Beetles, why is it so Dam**ned hard to find a decent genuine one to restore ? where are they all hiding ?
I've been searching in the UK, and in Europe for some. The ones over here that do sometimes come up for sale on eBlag etc, are sometimes so rusty even a decent Chroming shop won't touch them !! Being a bit of a conspiracy theorist, I think someone in Europe has a Mountain of them stashed, and hiding them from the Brits because we want to leave the EU !!
I'd really like a rear 'US Spec Towel Rail' type for mine
If I go down the route of buying after market, I get a choice of Summer Chrome Brazilian ( read brightly coloured Tin ) for $325, or a 'Top' quality 'European' one for $630, which I'm not so sure about either !!
Anyway, that's my Rant

Most of Europe was under the Iron Curtain during the heyday of the Beetle. I know many of those countries didn't have many cars let alone many people who could afford to buy a car.
I've seen some pictures of stashes in Europe. I think the last big one was in Hungary.
Is it too terribly expensive to import one? _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

You’ll probably have to import one if you can’t find anything there. I come across nice original cars quite a bit. |

I decided to look at the ad word count.
An online word counter says the ad text is 2024 words.
$75,000 / 2024 = $37.06/word
I guarantee there are worse Price/word count ads out there.
Found this one pretty quickly, more money, less words

If he drops the price $5000 per week, for the next 8 weeks, it just might sell. |

They don't even have grain in them like they were shot with film, so they were altered in an editing program.... interesting. _________________ '67 Beetle L41

Or maybe they are old photos and scanned in and then photoshoped.
Who knows what some of these folks think when they post items. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

You don't have to rub a lamp to load your pics on your pc and set them to B&W. But really, his excuses don't stop there. I love this stuff:
Still needs to be installed
window cranks
Interior door handles
Seat belts
Fender beading
I'm a slow typist so I'm certain I could install some of that before being able to spell out an ad excusing it. _________________

I do as well. I shoot and old nikkormat 35mm, develop and enlarge myself. I would never try to sell a car with those pics though lol. |

Google images show no garage at the address currently, which are 2017 images, but you can see from the street view from May 2013 that there was once a garage in the back yard. The current photos show raw dirt in the backyard, so the garage was likely torn down recently. Still like the car, but still waaay to expensive. _________________ 1974 "Restfalia" Camper 2000 cc EFI 2001-
