I don't know if this is really a whine? I have absolutely nothing against this company, and their steering wheels seem like a good product at a fair price. But their ad says:
"Every part interchanges with an original Volkswagen part, so replace a missing piece, top off a restoration, or replace the entire thing with a completely stock looking wheel. It's identical to an original, so much so that another available reproduction is a copy of one of ours! Flattery, they say..."
If your product is identical to the original, I don't see how your competitors made a copy of yours? Wouldn't theirs be a copy of the original too? So the suggestion that 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' would apply to Airhead copying the original VW wheel too I guess?
Wouldn't that be the same as me using Martha Stewart's bread recipe, and then when you make the same loaf, I claim you copied the recipe from me?
I don't know? It just seemed like a really strange claim to me. |
