I block sellers who want outrageous prices from my view. Why waste time looking at an OEM fuse holder for fifteen bucks, when others sell them for five?
If I'm in a real pinch, I just put in a wtb ad.

Sweet! I've been looking for a "whale tail" to add to the 67 bug Robbie! You'd have to agree it would look hot on that baby. Of course I'll ad the pink wiper blades as well!
Thanks for sharing this link!

Is it me or is there a shortage of OE 1200 tinware out there for a 73 basic bug?
If not, can someone point me in the direction of someone who might have some?
I seem to recall buying this sort of stuff from Terry at Volksaholics but that was years ago,is he still around and trading?
Cheers |

That's a good looking speedometer.

My jaw dropped when I saw how much they wanted, then I saw why. After seeing how much money in parts they claimed to have spent, I realized the car is only worth that much to them. _________________ Mike

$10,900 for a 1971 Super with no engine.
My favorite part is:

I'll bet you a nice shiny new nickel that asking price reflects the investment he put into swapping the AS for a 4 speed, and now he's trying to get it back out of some chump.
Should've left it as is, when will people learn. |

dunno, the US spares' market prices are unknown to me; maybe VW parts -even the rarer ones- are relatively more easily available there (a bit like in Germany). In Italy, where every dude with a rusty mexican 1200 seized engine thinks he's got rolls-royce worth of money, given the rarity and conditions that would actually be a fair price. Maybe take some off with negotiations but not too much. _________________ cars:

That's a very fair price.
Look at all the parts. Try to assemble that many NOS parts for that money.
A good used one that's been rebuilt goes for $4-500
You can get the bare heater body for nearly nothing around here because everyone saved that complicated part. Everyone threw away the simple ducting and brackets, so now if you want to install a heater, you pay dearly for the ancillaries. _________________
