So ^#%$&%$##$^&*^$#$%&*%$ tired of all these cost savings programs suppliers have taken on in the last decade.
This whine is directed towards my 1988 Mazda truck; first I noticed replacement mechanical fuel pumps no longer included the plastic spacer. Today I received a pair of B2200 front brake hoses from RockAuto, and the copper sealing washers were NOT included !!! So likely I'll need to search out some 10mm i.d. sealing washers or re-use the factory ones. Such B.S., Beck-Arnley parts made in Italy. Still considerably less than made-in-China stuff available through O'Reilly which appears to come with copper washers. It just wads my panties when necessary little stuff like this is not included, as a cost savings. I know price of copper is up, but this is ridiculous. I'm not expecting brake hoses to include fresh brake fluid, a bleeder kit, etc., but this is ridiculous to me !
For old VWs, when one replaces rear brake shoes, you need a special "horseshoe" clamp on each side to attach the parking brake levers onto the new brake shoe. And you need a giant cotter pin on each side too (for the 36mm rear axle nut). How tough would it have been - going back 50 years or more - to include those in a set of new brake shoes????? _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Hmm...not quite a whine as much as a slight concern...closeouts on part for Beetles at Rockauto? As in not going to carry them any longer?

Whine: Is there a work around to install a stereo into a '73 Super without the factory single DIN dash trim piece? There's one for sale in the cla$$ifieds, but the guy wants $100 and I'm not worthy of the tax bracket that can afford such extravagance.
Thoughts?
Criticisms?

So I bought the plastic guides thingys for the window regulators. They didn’t fit. So I called and they said yea we know. So I ordered from a second company and they didn’t fit either. So I asked them why they sell something they know doesn’t fit.
Answer…. Maybe you can make it work

Zeitgeist, few years ago, I got that same radio bezel from Wolfsburg West, and I found that the interior flanges have to be cut off and filed, so that the radio can fit smoothly in there. The radio's faceplate will hold the bezel in snugly.
I have no idea why they have these stupid flanges in there, but once removed, the bezel is a perfect fit.

Thanks, I looked at the pics again and see what you're referring to regarding the weird flanges. _________________ Casey--

After reading the rave reviews and weighing the pros and cons, I've decided to buy the vendor, theSamba, every car and part advertised on theSamba, as well as the vendors advertising on theSamba. Except for GEX. I'm banning them from theSamba. _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”

I'm not sure whether I'm calling this item something wrong or what, but I'm having a helluva time finding the forward running cables which operate the footwell flaps on a '73 Super. I can find the main heater cables, as well as the versions for the rear footwell flaps, but I've found zippo for the forward flaps.
L'il help?
I cribbed this pic, so disregard the question and just focus on the forward cables.

So, can I repurpose the rear footwell cables for the front? _________________ Casey--

You can buy the front heater cables from Jbugs. They sell the cable. You have to provide the sheath. Bicycle brake cable sheaths, or even refrigerator water conduit line will do.

The photo is wrong but I've ordered this part in the past and it appears to be correct (never got around to installing it) _________________ Samuel Hartford
