Do NOT buy VW (especially Karmann Ghia) toys on eBay.
Repeat: do NOT buy.
They are all trash. Garbage. Not good stuff.
Turn off your computer and bid no more. |
Probably good advice, even as a broad generality.
It seems somebody is always pissing me off with thier priceless treasures.

Hey, Dan:
Seriously, I've had hundreds of good experiences on eBay.
I've actually had NO bad deals.
Sometimes I pay too much, but I've NEVER run into a bad seller.
Keep the computer on and have fun with it. |
I have never had a problem with e-bay before either. It helps to check feedback and such. Iowegian, You sell toys? e-mail me with a list if you don't mind |

Yea those are not very old and they are pretty common...... I usually see them for around the $15-$20 mark....... and I don't buy them at that. |

average would probably be maybe so many but all fairly new.
if you had 1000 diecast 40-50 year old toys then i 'd be interested maybe in seeing pics. |

I don't collect toys...nope, none...dammit alright maybe a couple.
Paul, looks like an old picture of the VWs I think I might even have that one in an old VW Trends. How 'bout an update?
Here's some advice...go out to your local Wallywurld(and others) and collect all the vw related stuff you can...spend every $ you have, store it in a climate friendly area for let's say 15 to 20 years then sell it all to me for a 1/4 of the price. There is too much of the new stuff on the market. _________________ Rusted Relics

Steve, that is an older shot. I don't have any newer pics on the net. Maybe I'll get around to it someday.
The Trends pics that you're thinking of were earlier than the pic shown. I still had hair half way down my back in those pics. _________________ Do you want fries with that? |

I have found that when either of the two previous posters are bidding ( I won't reveal their eBay names), it is best to forget about getting involved in that auction. |

I have a serious EBay “crack habit” with Minichamps Volkswagen 1/43 scale models, Tonka VW's, and Gate VW New Beetles in 1/18 scale models.
And before my eyesight got old-man-bad I was building 1/25 model cars at the rate of 2 a month or better depending on how much time I had to spend at work.
I have a second bedroom that is taken over with all these “little cars”.
Most of the cool Minichamps VW seem to be sold from the Europe so I get a lot of international shipments.
I seem to have good luck with sellers from the UK, but after being burned by 2 sellers from Germany, I’ve stopped bidding on items sold by German sellers.
I hate to write off an entire country, but what the hell. _________________ Good Luck

Thanks for putting it up for me.
The piece is far nicer than it looks in the pics. The paint flaws are actually
not obvious in real life. I also think that the Serbian seller cleaned the piece before mailing it to me.
Oh--- the clockwork motor works well. |

I never understood this toy thing. Did you guys miss something in your childhood?....................... Like Micheal Jackson in FAO Schwartz or something, I don't get it but is sure seems like fun. Explain it to me Chuck..........Why do you collect toys? What is the attraction? _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |
