That was called the Lil' Bugger.

It's pretty funny that someone made a model of it.

I saw the real model in a video on YouTube. I like extraordinary models. Unfortunately my Motorhome is made of resin.

Since I had the damage on the "Wolfsburger Bähnle", I don't like the material (resin) anymore. Sad

I'm having the same issue with my resin 1/25 scale Beach Bomb by Night Stalker. You can see how the roof rails are starting to bow out.

I can't complain. It's almost 20 years old, and there were only about 10 made, all in different "spectraflame" colors. This one is is purple.

This is very upsetting. The photo-etched parts also don't hold up particularly well on the resin models. I am very happy that my beautiful MiniStyle beetles have not suffered any damage.

I haven't found any photos of MiniStyles here yet. That's why I'm showing mine. They are in 1:43 scale.

Typically resin distortion isn't an issue on smaller scale models.

The "Wolfsburger Bähnle" is also in 1:43 scale. Fortunately, the MiniStyles do not have any critical components.

Here's a photo of the VW Jolly I built from a Pyro Beach Buggy kit. Enjoy.

I like the Jolly very much. The color of your Jolly is also my favorite color. I have only two Jollys from Schuco in 1:43 and 1:18.

I would like to have the Jolly as a color sample model, as it is in the VW Museum.

I didn't know someone had made a toy of a 'Coming and Going' Volkswagen.

Back in the 70's there were two in the Pine Hill NY area built by a fellow named Alfred. I understand he was quite a character. Probably others built similar cars. I couldn't find a picture but my brother sent me a newspaper clipping which had a photo:

I also have this sorry picture of his body shop:

Hello Jack,

all MiniStyles have an original model in 1:1. However, only the black beetle in my photo is a MiniStyle. The purple beetle in the foreground is from Duvi.

Thank you for showing the newspaper clippings. Would you allow me to show the newspaper clippings in my beetle model community?

hi KaeferModelle, Yes - use freely.

By serendipity, I came across a copy of the newspaper while I was doing something completely unrelated! I've attached the full page below.

I didn't realize that one of Alfred's 'Coming and Going' Volkswagen was displayed at the 1974 New York Auto Show in the Coliseum. So maybe this was the inspiration for the MiniStyle toy.
