I recently made a purchase from thingparts.com. My experience with them was good. Good communication, fast shipping and the best price I could find.
I would highly recommend them. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

I was unaware of any past issues with Michael. I have had 2 experiences with him and both have been great. Yesterday, I had the front if my wife's Thing torn apart. When I went to install the eccentric nut I realized something was wrong. I wasn't sure what it was because this was the 1st time I'd ever done it. I sent him a pm in my frustration not expecting an answer on a Sunday. He answered within 10 minutes, helped me figure it out, and shipped the part to me promptly to fix it.
Whatever issues he had before, that was in the past. I plan on using him as much as I can from now on.
Thank you for your help Michael. _________________ My 71 Ghia Been in my family since 1980

Just completed another transaction with Mike. Everything went off without a hitch. Fast reply to emails along with a phone call to tell me it shipped. Part was in better shape than it looked in the pictures, and the shipping was fast.
Thanks Mike, I'll be back for more soon.

I have been remiss in leaving feedback for mike basso. A few months ago, i picked up a 1967 SWF wiper motor for 3 dollars. I asked mike if he could convert it for thing use. He said he thought so, but hed know for sure once he saw it. I sent it to him, and he did get a little backed up with his real job, but he kept me updated. He charged me considerably less than he quoted me, and it works like a dream. |

I recently bought a bunch of parts from Mike in person at Kubeltreffen East 2013. He was very helpful with reasonable prices. I thought of a few other parts a week or so later and called/emailed him. Mike provided good advice and even threw in a couple of parts at no charge. I would do business with thingparts.com and Mike again. _________________ Buck

First purchase with Mike, and it was a great transaction: quick, thorough comms and good packaging and turnaround. Would certainly buy from again. _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

Placed 3 orders totaling some 22 items amounting to almost $700. Some items new, some used.
Mike combined the 3 separate orders and saved me a bit of shipping expenses.
Received the entire shipment pretty quickly. Within 7 days of ordering. Despite being well packed, a used air cleaner body was damaged beyond repair. Once notified, Mike promptly sent a replacement.
One item I ordered was a "used" distributor. I specifically wanted a 043905205C unit. I was expecting a used but functional distributor but what I got was a non functional unit. Advance plate was frozen. Honestly it looked worst than my original fire damaged one. The DVDA vacuum can was still functional so the core valve is worth just about what I paid for it. I messaged Mike about this and he offered to send me a different model but I declined as I wanted stay with the model I had. I ended up having my original distributor rebuilt. Despite several attempts to resolve this issue, Mike has yet to respond to my messages regarding a credit or return of his "used" distributor.
Overall, aside from a few bumps, I'm satisfied with my transactions.
Lessons learned? "Used" does not necessarily mean functional. Further inquires are necessary. _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

I was totally unaware of the past with Mike, as we got our 181 in 2011, but the few times I have had to deal with Mike, have been fine, parts not as expensive as they could be, and reasonable shipping. Will continue to do business as the future unfolds, at this point no reason not to. |

Just did a deal with Mike on an AM-FM radio bracket and steering wheel. Customer service and advice was great and things shipped out/ arrived cross country with zero drama. Thank you very much, Mike! Will be back if I need more for sure. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
