I just had Bus Depot cancel my order for all my lug nuts for the alloys i posted above.

Anyone here source these locally at a parts store? Autozone near me did not have them.

Thanks, if I can't source locally I will give him a try.

Anyone have luck at a chain parts store?

My tires just came in and are waiting on these.

I found these, from a 2001 Mercedes E320. 16", ET 41.

Would they fit a stock 2WD Westfalia (auto)? I understand I would need some spacers.

Thanks

Hi VicVan, I found the same wheels. Did you installed them? If yes, can you share what you did to fit these?

Thanks

Hi,

Haven't installed them yet. I've contacted Chris at T# Technique, and I ordered spacers for the front and the back, studs for the rear, nuts for the rear, longer bolts for the front. And a drill bit to make the bolt holes a bit wider (37/64").

Does anyone know what that maximum backspacing you could have on a 15" steel rim on a 1985 2wd tintop (front & rear)? I'm guessing it's around 5.25" maybe?

I have a spare rim that I will check the rear clearance on, both front & rear on a 2wd & a Syncro.

I will post my findings on max wheel backspacing with some detailed photos

2WD Westfalia, will these work? If so, what size tires can I run. If I also add a GW 1.5" lift, can I increase the tire sidewall height?

J-Rod, you could run those, but you would need to have the center bore opened up to 66.56 by a machine shop and you would need spacers, studs, and lugs. There's a chance the center caps may not fit too.

The center isn't at 66.56 already being a VW wheel? Any idea on the tire size that i could run with these? Thx

Go to your van.

Write down the tire size you have now.

Plug that into google to find out what your current tire diameter is.

If you're happy with acceleration response, climbing hills now, etc, then find a 17" tire with the same diameter and a load range of 97 or higher.

The above is just a general guideline.

Since Christopher said you'll need to drill it out, you can be fairly sure you need to drill it out.

I searched this post and a couple others. Don't see the exact answer.

'87 2wd all stock running components.

Will the 7.5Jx17 ET25 rims from an '03 Audi AllRoad fit with just spacers? Will the center bore need to be machined on these?

If they rims fit (or can be made to,) what size tire would be recommended?
Currently they're sporting 225/55's.

You would have to have the center bore opened up to 66.56mm and you would need to run new lugs front and rear. The center caps will not fit front or rear.

225/55R17s will fit, but are on the tall side. A 215/55R17 or a 225/50R17 would be preferable.

Thanks Chris. Great info as always. I was good until the center plates won't be usable. Which makes sense because they clip to the inside of the hub bore if memory services me correct.

These look pretty neat, if anyone is interested. Never heard of the Hayashi brand.

No one has mentioned this in a while, but you can basically find whatever wheels you want on https://www.car-part.com/ you just might have to drive to the yard.

We need tires so....

We still have the stock 14” wheels. Have been advised by mechanic to upgrade to 15”.

Going to get 5. After researching here and on internet, we are considering the ones below.

https://www.vancafe.com/15Carrot-B-p/15carrot-b.htm
https://www.vancafe.com/T815-p/t815.htm
https://www.busdepot.com/j18754

We plan to put the BF Goodrich AT A K 02 tires on the rims

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=...;tab=Sizes

Any comments or advice on these choices?

We aren’t sure about the spare fitting in the clamshell under the van. Is there a possibility that one of these wheel/tires combos would fit in the existing clamshell?

We would like to avoid spending the $ on a swing out rear spare carrier. Van cafe has the one below but currently out of stock. Not sure if they will have more, need to call after the “holiday” is past.

https://www.vancafe.com/SPTIRECARRIER-p/rmw-tc-spare.htm

Thanks in advance for any advice!

You will have to modify the stock carrier to fit that size tire, period.
Even then it may not fit, depending on rim WIDTH and tire model.

That VanCafe spare carrier you linked to ISN'T a rear carrier!
Read the description and look at the photos.

Hi and thanks for your reply. If it is possible to modify the stock clamshell carrier to allow the 15” rim with the 215/75/r15 tires that would be great. Any advice or description of how that is done would be very helpful. I think OK even if we deflated the tire. We carry a small air compressor.

I know that van cafe carrier fits under the van and replaces the clamshell. That would be ideal imo, but out of stock and not sure if they are still being fabricated.
