I started with the bumpers and it kept going. The rustoleum is not as thick. I used a can of the bed armor on the back bumper.
Did the awning and left the stickers on then peeled them off looks pretty cool.

While i was painting the top had the luggage rack off and did the inside of that as well. Usually carry firewood up there.

Here is a picture at night of the led strips I added..

Good tip Captain Pike! Thanks for sharing.
EDIT: meant to add - this might be better than rubber undercoating. That seems to flake after a time and then there is surface rust under the rubber coating.

How has this held up?
What is the texture like?
I am looking for a mildly textured bedliner paint for my bumpers.

OP hasn't been on the Samba this year and the Cap'n in the past 4 months - so maybe you'll be left wondering. Does look good though.

How could they leave us? Was it something we said?

Anyone else have any experience with this brand of bed liner? It might be good for me because it seems to not have that super gritty texture.
The other texture I really like is monstaliner.

I recently used duplicolor bedliner on my van . Looks goods and lays down smoother than herculiner. It actually looks alot monstaliner as far as sheen and texture. I know because i ordered monstaliner mixted it, and was hoping that after drying it would darken. Nope. I only did a small area on a fender arch. Even darkened it with pigment from napa after discussing it with monstliner tech. Jungle love wasnt as dark as id hoped. Aborted that plan and got the duplicolor, which only comes in black btw. Time will tell.

While the Duplicolor & Rust O leum is inexpensive, it is not really a true bedliner.
Read the cans.
It is a feau bedliner, look alike product.

It is not UV, gas or solvent proof-not even close.

If you looking for true spray can bedliner,Mortons bedliner in a spray can is the real thing--urethane--
It is UV , gasoline, & solvent proof.

To show how tough & resilient the Duplicolor & Rustoleum is;
Take a lacquer or gas rag rag and wipe any panel you have sprayed with it down-- wet rag--after it's dry & set up of course.

It'll roll off like the enamel that it really is, really fast.
It has zero urethane finish qualities--none--
It has no urethane durability whatsoever.
It has zero elasticity.

Just words of wisdom to the unknowing and uniformed.

Thanks TK. Luckily i didnt go hog wild in how high i went. I knew it likely wasnt as durable as it doesnt take a catalist. I do appreciate the input. Monstaliner was my original choice. Time was not on my side here and made a hasty decision that will cost me time later by the sounds of it.

Thanks TK, do you know if the same is true for the Rustoleum by the same name that comes in a gallon can?

Not sure why the formula would be any different in a gallon can or spray can.
I would assume it would be the same.
Read the label.
If it's a "Bedliner Like" product , it isn't the real thing-

I have always used U-Pol Raptor, in a bedliner application gun or Morton's bedliner in a spray can which is a bonafide urethane product--and here is the key word--Urethane--

I have a can of the duplicolor--
It "Simulates" the look of a plastic Bedliner.
It sure does melt when any kind of solvent is anywhere near it--Like gas & lacquer as I mentioned.

Inside of a pickup truck utility box which I applied Raptor bedliner onto, there is a 125 gallon diesel fuel tank for fueling up earth moving equipment at night.
The operators are slobs and usually have the fuel slobberd all over the place in the pickup bed.

It's been in this truck body for at least 12 years and is still sound & hasn't softened up.
And they do carry gas cans in the bed too, and the gas they spill in there hasn't caused the bedliner to peel, or run off.

Good stuff.

Don't take this the wrong way, I believe it's because is early in the day and your meds are spot on Smile

T.K. I agree with you 100% and recommend ANY Urathane based product, Raptor at the top of the list for DIY applications
