So when i bought my 64 bug it had an adjustable beam but i dont know if it has dropped spindles. The guy didn't put the beam on and had no idea about the spindles. How do i check if i have some sort of dropped spindle? I would love to know before i go out and buy a pair. thanks

Does you car sit lower than stock height? You'll need to inspect the spindle in question. Look in relation to how the actual spindle is located on the knuckle. if it'scentered, you have a regular height spindle. If the spindle sits near the top, then you have a lowered spindle.
Another way is look how the spindle is atttached to the knuckle. A press fit was used by the VW Factory. Aftermarker dropped spindles are usually welded. If you have a weld bead around the base of the spindle, it has been modified for a lowered ride height.

some of the newer spindles are forged completely new & have no welds. post up a pic of your spindle.

Stock VW spindles are forged in one piece, nothing is pressed together. If you can see a separate shaft pressed into the knuckle, it is an aftermarket spindle, likely dropped (raised do exist). Welded means aftermarket. Some aftermarket spindles are forged from one piece.
