I thought I'd already posted, but I guess not...

My Dad's (now my) '71 Fastback, Clementine orange, was like many, called Clementine. My late wife shortened it to "Clemmie" and it stuck!:

More recently, I bought a '69 Westfalia, and in honor of her, her late dad, and the Oahu dealership he helped open (Ala Moana VW), she is named "Moana":
