I named my '55 oval "Brook" 'cuz I rescued her from Brooklyn (and the previous owner told me I had to represent)! I guess it beats "Coney Island!" LOL _________________ '55 Oval

Be still my heart... that's very sweet! I emailed my 21's owner when I got it and introduced myself since he turned down so many people who wanted to buy it, but I never heard back from him. Evidently he really was a hardass to people wanting it. If it weren't for Camerod pointing out problems and describing how he wanted to fix those (like the front clip that wasn't perfect after being wrecked & replaced), I might not have gotten it either, even with asking price in hand. If feel bad for your bug's previous owner, I dreaded losing my first bus and mourned it till I got another. _________________ Vicki

I have a 67 bug that i bought from the original owner, she named her "ODA" because it was the first three letters on its OG license plates. So i kept it the same name. I even hand write (yes no email) the lady a letter every year at the time i bought it to keep her informed on "ODA's" Resotration Status. _________________ Thornton |

My 1970 Westy is named "Do-Des-Kaden" - which is the sound a train makes for Japanese ears (also an Akria Kurosawa film) - It got this name as I chugged up smoky mts at 20mph on it's maiden out of town voyage.
My 1974 Super Beetle is named "Mike" - I bought it in Ft lauderdale and it charged 5 hours home on the interstate smooth as could be. Being Tampa Bay Bucs fans, my wife and I named it after Mike Alstott. |

My beetle's name is Ava.
My mom can't quite seem to get it right. She sometimes calls it the Volvo, other times the wagen. I just laugh. |

Well, my car is either called "my/your car" (depending on whether I'm talking or not), "The VW" "The Volks" "the little car" or "coch" (pronounced Coach, short for cochecito, spanish for little car). Being an almost only car, it has many appelations. _________________ Beware of Drive-By Bayonetteings!!

Fig,
I like your bus, I saved a few pictures you placed in the gallery when you went around the world or whater.. I like the ones by the prymids and in the dessert. Anyway, my most recent VW, "Lily" is named Lily becuase I bought it off here. It is a 1971 VW Super Beetle. The 94 year old lady bought this new in her early 60's and drove it until the day Bought it. She is still alive, but the car is in memory of her. Thanks Lily! |

I never named my cars until I noticed that my sister names all her cars. And she's really good at coming up with names for cars, but the best was her 1971 Westfalia, called "Mrs Blücher". If you've seen Young Frankenstein and driven a fat chick you'll get the reference!
