Mud flaps on '80 Westy

I ordered a set of 4 from Bus Depot, they are the South African ones with the spring clips and single bolt. I am a little weary of the spring clips...anyone have these? Also, the directions for installation look pretty vague, is it just drilling a hole for the bolt and then jamming the clips on one larger one over the smaller one?

anyone have these South African mud flaps on their bus? I tried getting them on yesterday and could not, the srping clips just don't seem to fit on. Anyone out there with some info would be helpful. thanks a lot
