Hi all,
Im new to this forum but glad to have found it. My problem is that I need a vacuum diagram for my 1.9L and my Bentley manual is still in the mail and taking forever. I was hoping that someone would have this available and possible some photos that would make it more understandable. I did some searching on this forum and others and found some nice posts and web sites that really detailed the vacuum systems of some other engine models but not the 1.9L. Ive heard that the diagrams provided by the manuals can sometimes be a bit cryptic for the average backyard mechanic. So is there anyone else out there that has spent the time to either scan the manual or put together a detailed description of the vacuum systems for the beast? Thanks in advance for any help out there.

Cheers,
Stephen

this is what you'll find in the bentley for early systems.. hang on and let me add the part for the later system..

the only thing not labled in the pic is the nipple on the intake manifold for the hose that goes up to the brake booster.

also on the later system, the vacuum line from the distributor goes to a T connection at the pressure regulator rather than over to the throttle body. On my '84, I have what would be shown as the early version for the distributor and fuel pressure regulator, but it has the additional stuff shown on the later system probably because it has A/C.. with the exception that it ony has one idle-speed boost valve.

Here's a combined image I made of the Bentley pages 24.24a & 24.24b:
