Who makes the quietest exhaust on the market?

Has anyone tried a header with a Turbo muffler?

How quiet are the hide-away mufflers?

This will be installed on a totally stock 1600 DP.

The stock muffler is the quietest.

Putting a aftermarket muffler will at most yield 2-3hp more... if that. And too large a system will hurt the performance.

I've got a stainless steel muffler with stainless steel tail pipes on my daily driver '74 super, and it seems to be more quiet than anything I ever had before.

Adding a pair of baffled exhaust tips will make it even quieter.

Is it this one? I saw it and was wondering if its cost was justified.

Can't beat a stock muffler for that classic VW sound. For and extra hundred bucks, you can get a
complete kit that is cermanic coated. It'll probably be the last muffler you'll ever buy for the car.

stock is quitest, header w/quite pack comes close. most everything else out there is loud, cheap or gives poor performance on stockish style engines.

a stinger definitely, jk. i like extractor headers with a quiet pack sounds a little deeper than stock, they make a single tip stock muffler also. it might be a tad quieter than stock 2 tipped.

I am running a 1-5/8" A-1 Sidewinder on my bug and it is very quiet. Expensive, but quiet. My bug is not completely stock.

the turbo muffler is very meaty sounding, it will make others think you have a fast bug.
