Problems during oil change

I'm changing my oil in Anne the notch and I found this in the filter. The oil in the bottom was a silvery black, but the engine has about 3k miles on it, is that a problem, or expected? What do you think, do the pieces in the oil mean problems? What is this stuff from?

It's kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but the bottom pic of the black thing is concave.

the washer looks like a pice off of the rockers, happened to me before, look in the valve covers, and you might fins the other half of it. You will probably need to find another washer.

The white thing is rubber and has a round cross section. It used to be white.

The white thing is an oring that is under the rocker arm on later model heads. No big deal if missing. Maybe a minor oil leak. The black piece may be a piece of what some people consider a valve stem oil seal. Really just an oil wiper. No big loss.

Cool, thanks. I was concerned.

To hijack my own thread, the starter is crapping out on me. It will turn once or twice and then click a bunch and that's it. I cleaned ALL the connections with a dremel tool with the wire brush end and cleaned the posts on the battery as well. What am I missing or is the starter fried?

See what the voltage is at the battery when the clickity is going on. What you discribe sounds like a dead battery.

You may have insufficient voltage to the starter which will cause the clicking sound, because the starter bendix or starter drive as it is sometimes called will not engage. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I haven't driven her in a month or so, so that may be the problem. I've been trying to put some miles on the RSX to get the free oil change at the dealership and I have until next week to do it. I figured I'd drive the Notch before the battery drained but I was wrong. There's a light on the MPH gauge that is always barely on and I haven't gotten around to figuring out why yet so it drains the battery.
