You guys are forgetting the best one of all. Rinker Dinker Stinker. Carson topped squareback with a bus dash and safari windows in a classic midnight blue with a white roof.

i have to say, i'm kinda partial to my midengine notchback too!

Well I had my cover shot (Hot VW's Nov 93 and Super VW March 95), but the ivory and red red type 3 Hot VW cover was imo both cooler cars and a better cover.

I agree, but it's hard to find the perfect car for $5. Razz
I want it to be mostly complete/original and rust free.
There are also only a couple cars I would accept (in order of preferance):
61 single digit VIN notch
#10 all to myself
66 Baltic Blue 3 bolt door square
66 Black with pigalle square (w or w/o sunroof)
61/62 Anthracite or Black square
64 or 65 Black with white roof and sunroof square

I ran into an old high school friend about 5 years ago at an import shop and he told me his freind had rinker stinker dinker and was redoing it with A arm front suspension? He lived in Rancho Cucamonga.

There was another bus windsheild roofless square for sale at pomona a few times but that is not the same car.

Here is another one for you what about the Orange topless one with suicide doors that was on the cover VW trends. I heard it was at a used car dealership near newport beach or something like 10 years ago.

That one was here in Nor Cal years ago.
The guy that had it was parting it out.
Sold the engine, wheels, etc.
When I bougt it there was no title for it. When I tried to register it I found out why.
He had already sold it to another guy and then sold it to me. The first guy reported it stolen when he went to get it and it was gone.

No problem for me as I had a bill of sale with guys name / address / phone number on it I bought it from. He had a hard time explaining that one.

A buddy of mine has the engine still, and I saw the car at a Vallejo show years ago, but never again since.

Damn, I forgot about all of those louvers, but I would still roll that thing. I don't know about you guys in Oregon and Washington. Wasn't there just a few threads about leaky windows. Caulking and new rubber woudn't help this one.
