lots of pics in this thread are gone because of photobucket, but look what Dragin'Ink posted on FB. I havent seen it before. I've never seen a corner window highroof. I'm guessing the windows were added later...

Very late to the show here.. I don't often check forums anymore..

I'm so glad this has been found.. I had pictures of this bus years and years ago.. I'm pretty sure this bus is Portuguese and converted by VW Guerin (like mine)..

I think the Caliifornia plates are just on there for show..

Anyone has any info on this bus..?? I've been looking for it for a loooong time..

Unless there's another brown 15 window highroof (but I don't think so.. Smile )

judging by that '80" sticker on the rear decklid my guess in that bus came out of Portugal where they are well known for cobbling together whatever suited their need/fancy back in the day. Put another way they weren't too concerned "originality"

It's a metal sign but you're correct.

And as for the build quality, I've had a fair amount of portuguese buses and although some have had a fair amount of repairs they're not comparable with columbian busses in any way.

The windows are not 'hacked or bodged' in. It looks like they must of had a specialised tool because they're like original windows with lip etc.. there's literally hundreds of portuguese converted panels.. all converted by VW Guerin (VW Importer from back in the days)

Nice looking bus- you would need to be a very tall basketball player to get anything on or off that roofrack though!

A folding ladder helps or there has been many times that I used the spare tire wall as a step. 5'10" and had a 62 HR.
