No worries!
What are you doing in Taiwan? I have spent a total of 3 years traveling around most of mainland Asia. Only been through the airport in Taipei. Hopefully I will be heading back next summer and may check out Taiwan. I love it over there. _________________ “May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” - Edward Abbey

Resurrect an old thread - this might be of interest:
Al from campervanculture has spent a while developing a kit to install backlit gauges with lit needles - just got mine to do the install:

I've been trying out this prototype from another source for the last 6 months.
A different gauge face approach than Campervan culture's, note the tach and the centre cluster with fog light and check engine light features. This electroluminescent set up is tailored more for Vanagons with non-stock engines (although it works just fine on my syncro with WBX).

Nice!
I need to finish my install, really brings the visual feel of the cluster forward 30 years! _________________ Jake

Jed, I think the latter half of that saying is more apt for us Vanagon owners "and fools seldom differ"
The big 500 lb gorilla in the room when it comes to stock dash upgrade is the deterioration of the dash foil. Man is that a bugger.
cheers

Has anyone managed to create a internally-lit needle? I have UV LEDs front lighting flourescent-painted stock needles, but it washes the white-faced EV gauges with purple light, kind of defeats the purpose.

You need a UV bandpass filter-removes the visible light, passes the UV! _________________ '82 SyncroWesty, the first ever conversion.'06 Subaru 2.5L |
