What are the symptoms of a failing fuel pump?

I just had to tow my bus a mile to get home. I replaced the fuel lines today and now the engine will run but cant power the bus and cuts off. After installing the new lines it ran great and I drove it down the street. Suddenly it started running sluggishly and I had to keep the rpms high to keep it going. Then it seemed to get progressively worse until now I cant get it to run enough to push the bus at all.

I checked the lines to see if they had become clogged but there was nothing. The only thing I can think of is that the fuel pump happened to start failing right after I put the new lines on.

I put a new filter on a couple weeks ago, and finished up the new fuel lines today.

What kind of fuel pressure is it putting out? Test it with the appropriate gauge for carbs or FI.

Well I dont think it is the fuel pump now. The engine is definitely getting gas. I pulled the plugs after trying to run it for a couple minutes this afternoon and the #1 and #2 plug were cold while #3 and #4 were warm. Also 1 and 2 have quite a bit of carbon deposits on them while 3 and 4 look normal with a slight amount of oil on them. I think one of my carbs might have a problem.
