Hi Gerson....
I'll talk to the "guy on the right" if you just answer my emails. Producing the body sides would be a great project. Contact me. _________________ Rick Clark in Monterey County, CA USA

Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner Rick, I have been having some labor problems, the holidays have not made things easier, people here take off from the 15th of December to the 15th of January, we do not take that time off, but ALL my suppliers do, I have had my ass in a sling here.....my apologies to you, and to all the people who have been trying to get a hold of me...and yes, it would be nice to get a glimpse/close up pics of those NOS BD sides..... _________________ that's not patina, that's fucking rust man!!!!

I see Gerson's evil plan coming to fruition.
Looks like he will be producing NOS Barndoor buses, just like the NOS '69 Camaro convertibles!
I hope he succeeds, by the way.

That is exactly where we are headed, hopefully we will have the first one built using our jigs by late this year.....maybe the one that I am taking to Bulli.... ...hopefully VW won't send a hit squad and kill everyone here in the shop ............... _________________ that's not patina, that's fucking rust man!!!!

Much cheaper to do in Bogota, he explained all of this to me and a couple of other guys at the BB, but I will let him explain for himself. _________________ Jack

well sir, it boils down to basic economics, I tried to set up shop in the U.S., but got my ass handed to me by OSHA, the county, the fire dept. etc.etc....there is no way in hell I can operate my shop in the U.S. and stay in business, way too expensive.....if you read the article about the camaro replicas, they make ALL they panels overseas, then get the panels shipped in, and assemble the bodies in the U.S.(using their "state of the art jigs") There are a couple of reasons for this, first to have absolute control over quality, second, U.S. law prohibits (complete)vehicle importation without DOT approval(safety, smog etc.etc.), and if they import the completed bodies, the bodies do not have VIN numbers, how would they handle the paperwork for registration etc.etc.....If those guys would have found a way of getting around the importation roadblocks for complete bodies, they would be assembling those bodies in China, India, or Bangladesh..... _________________ that's not patina, that's fucking rust man!!!!
