I don't really care for 009's, there are much
better optoins IMHO. That being said...

My friend needed a dizzy (and after many warnings from me)
he bought an 009 Sad He ended up with a chinese knock-off,
even worse Shocked . Well... the fit and finish seems to be nicer than
the Brazilian 009 and I've heard from a few sources, that there
seems to be less "issues" with them over the old Brazilian made 009.

Anyone running a chinese copy? How's it working out for you?
Can it be that the chinese crap, might not be THAT crappie? My friend has only been running it for a week, so far so good.

Nevertheless I'm sticking with an svda or 010 or 019.

I've heard from a few that the Chinese 009s are better than the Brazilian ones.

There's nothing like a 010.

There is a Canadian version out there too.
I've bought a couple just to evaluate them.
Not had a chance to run one on an engine yet.

Well I'm not saying who I got these from but.....

The only issue we have had with them is oil leaking thru the shaft bushings.....

Besides that its cool.

Bad bushings or not shimmed correctly.

Of the almost 1000 cast iron distributors i've done i only had to replace a handful of bushings of these 40+ year old units. Give me a 010 or 019 any day over a 009... any of them.

There is no question, hands down that the Chinese copy is of MUCH better quality than the Brazilian version. The Chinese copy has two advance springs inside while the Brazilian version only has one. We tested the advance curve on the Chinese copy before it even hit the market. We found that it advances 1 degree per 100 rpm consistantly up to full advance while the Brazil version jumps all over the place. I took the Brazil 009 out of my car and threw it in the garbage and replaced it immediately. I have not personally seen the oil seeping issue.

I know this question might be off the topic. But, how about the 009s that have germany stamped on the underside? Are they not good either?
