|
|
Hello,
i`m building up a 1300 ccm Okrasa engine (in parts) and at the moment i`ve following question:
The linkage "triangle sheet metal", don`t know the exact name
is it welded to the fan housing?
(I think there`s no other possibility (screw) because of the oil cooler)
How was it fitted by Okrasa? autogen with gas? or was it soldered?
And how to manage the right position? Is there a plan/picture?
Thanks a lot!

Hello joe h.,
thank you very much, a fantastic document with very useful help.
Do you have the full bullett?
I think many users here would happy to read the full mounting instructions.
Do you have also the patterns how to cut the cylinder head tin?
Wouldn`t it be a nice idea to install here at thesamba.com a folder to collect all okrasa informations and advertisements?
@mk-zero: you`re right, but nobody knows all...., i took this name, because i`m happy to get such a rare part of vintage tuning.
Thanks,
Alex |

Sorry, I don't have any diagrams, or patterns.
I do have the installation instructions, and operating and maintenance manual.
I could send this to Everett if he would like. |

Hello Joe,
yes, would be nice and helpful to send the installation instructions to Everett.
@John: I know who you mean, i don`t know whats his name here, but "mr.okrasa" was free. It`s a nick name, not more.
Thanks,
Alex |

I know where there is a complete Okrasa engine from a 57 Bug. When I say complete, I mean every thing from top to bottom, including all tin. Maybe I can help but I have to make a phone call first. _________________ Never drive faster than your Angel can fly

Actually, Lloyd, that photo may be on "Mr. Okrasa"'s website, or something, but he did NOT take it.
Know how I know?
I think that might have come from the article I did right before I left HotVWs, to come to your neck of the woods.
Joe is THE MAN when it coes to those engines.
Wait until you have had the privelege of tearing down the 57 freeway with him, at over 80mph, during Friday afternoon rush hour traffic, in that (I forget the actual name) slide back roof car with one of his Okrasa engines in it....
Sorry I missed the Samoa Cookhouse feed today, I had every intention... _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

Hello again,
i found this picture in the net, the guy screwed the "throttle bell crank" to the fan housing:
Perhaps he mounts an oil cooler outside the fan housing?
At the moment i prefer spot welding as described from the okrasa instruction.
What do you mean?

I am wondering if anyone can help me with a copy of the Okrasa instructions. Also if anyone has any recommendations on some helpful books that would be great. I am trying to learn as much as I can to help with the rebuild of mine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the write up ! I thought welding up was uh tackey but spot welds would look OK. I too was confused about the name .. but Joe Ruiz is using his own name .
To clear things up: I had Everett remove the other mr. okrasa dude that was impersonating me and I changed my user name to Mr. Okrasa insted of Joe Ruiz. Sheesh! What nerve to use my name after establishing my name and world wide reputation over a 35 year span. I also own the OKRASA logo and name as well as Okrasa.com & Okrasa.net Hope this clears up any confusion. Cheers! The real Mr. Okrasa
