I really don't like the exhaust spitting noise my van is making. I cannot see any thing from the top and cannot drive it on public roads until it has been tagged. Other wise I would just lift it on the rack at work and look. Does anyone have any knowledge of the 5 cylinder van (93 EURO) exhaust manifold? the Chilton catalog rates the time to replace is around either 4 or 7 hours to accomplish. Are the manifolds prone to cracking or gasket failure? Maybe someone has already been there and didn't fix it correctly. Just curious and don't need to smell my own exhaust???????

| The manifolds do crack. The manifold is a two piece unit with a metal bellows clamp between them. On mine it was the clamp that failed. It is a real PITA to get at and you wouldn't want to break any of the studs back there as it would be almost impossible to fix. |
