Yes you can, but they are garbage! And you can spot them a mile away that they are both garbage and fake! Spend the extra $$$$ and buy the real ones.

Señor Krusher.....are you having a bubble? So you have aftermarket outer rings and housings, but with og lenses??? Well, what gives them away are the lenses, the repop ones. But I can see what your talking about if you were to put og ones, in the repop housings.

The ones I have seen look like caca. Though some years back I saw some in Europe, I think BBT?? But I don't recall what they looked like, to be exact?? And most folks don't stick their heads inside the engine compartment to checking the housings. REALLY.

Hope all is well with you Señor. I spoke to Graham a few weeks ago and I mentioned to him your where abouts. He said you were off to Bali or Thailand for a surf adventure?

Maybe I will see you at Bad Camberg? If so, we can have some pints and get pissed out of our trees!!!!

Yeah, I have some of the repros that were done as a short production run by a guy in portugal, the lenses that he reproed were for the earlier bus with the flat glass lense, I was lucky enough to get some OG late lences on Ebay before that kinda thing got crazy money. I will try to take a picture this weekend and post it.

There was a guy at dubfreeze (uk show) that had some for sale but he wanted about $230 for just the lenses!!!!

I wanted to do camberg, but its cheaper to go and surf in bali for 3 weeks than go to germany for the weekend!!!
I think there will be a brit invasion this time, all the new barndoor owners hungry for parts for there incomplete projects, I wonder what the prices paid for needed parts are gonna be.

Very Happy

I took this pic past weekend in the VW Museum in Wolfsburg. The taillight is housed inside a 51 kombi and i had never seen this kind of reflector glas.

Yeah I wondered that too, I think when I first put them on if you put them on sideways 90degrees out then the bulbs are easier to get too for getting all the electrics working etc, think i left them like that incase I had a blub go out just before MOT, and that way they have stayed for 2 years, Confused

K1509 - These come up fairly often on ebay Germany. Search for "traktor hella" and you usually get a few hits. The lenses are cheap as tractor lights, but when you call them "barndoor" the price gets crazy.

Here is a more modern version of the lens, it is the exact size but has new numbers. You can polish off the markings for a good replacement.

I've got so many of these now that I use them as checkers.

You've been smoking the Yesca with Doug the Head if you can't remember K1509 off the top of your head.
You have a chance to redeem yourself if you can tell us the part number on the lense of a '55-'57 American Market Bubble Taillight...
