You might be able to get it on special request. Kaefer Nostalgie sells screw terminal posts, if you need a source. _________________ -Thom

An other _later_ model.
Notice, there is only the German language version U/min x 100 not the RPM mention !

philoo,
The picture that you show above is a reproduction, correct? Any ideas who makes it? The needle looks to be the correct length for a tachometer, as shown here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=57118
Both North Hollywood and Palo Alto Speedometer say that they don't have a source for the longer needles. Is there one?

Sorry Mike, I can't be sure for the origin of the picture... but the fact is that a similar tach is installed in a very known French 1965 coupe. And in this car it is a OEM part driven by a generator, not a repro ! If you need more info, I can give you the owner email adress !

Here ya go, Lee. I had them saved on my hard drive and forgot about them. Sorry about that. I did make a cover for the hole in the back of the housing (at the bottom), it just wasn't finished yet when i posted the pics.

I met up with Todd "ovalboy" in Cincinnati last weekend and bought a tach kit for my 64. I installed it tonight and wired it up. Works like a charm and looks a great deal better than the non working clock that was in there.

I'm still kicking it around. I wish it was on a Saturday, and not Sunday. I'm 50/50 right now.

Great looking job. Now some food for thought: How much trouble to convert the clock to tach in "73" style w/ fuel gauge and all the lights? |
