Like what? Aside from the wrong headliner and Brazilian rear bumper? |
It also looks like the wrong front hood with a welded in badge area. Otherwise it seems like a reasonable price for what you get. |
Yeah, made it into a 4-tab But I generally agree, there's quite a bit of originality there for what I'd wish was more like $15K, then I'd roll in it. But that hood makes me want to see the front apron...as LP911 pointed out, it's got the wrong rear apron, so it's probably been smacked before, maybe even sandwiched. |

Which one is the better of the two? The one that isn't going to crumble in your hands when you pick it up? Looks like scrap metal prices have gone up a bit |

Facebook won't let me list the price at $35,000. |
Is Facebook using some judgemental artificial intelligence that is saying, nah, for that car, you meant 3,500? _________________ 1971 Super Beetle |

It appears to be a box of paint cans originally.
I've seen a full box for that price... but not for quite a while
At $300 I'd want 3+ cans included. _________________ How to Post Photos

Just to be clear; the 40 horse engine that spins freely means it doesn't even run, so you get an incorrect broken engine with everything else there that is incorrect and broken. |

Here's a gem for $7k:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2372961
no seats. long block in car. have W deck lid & four tab trunk. all original body fenders. doors are black and i suspect replaced originals. most of car is beautiful diamond green [WTF?] . bullet and ribbed fenders. 29k miles. may be original or may not be [does it matter?] . blocks from a ‘58, still 36hp though. billofsale only. all sekurit glass intact. no seats or interior panels. missing key & visor/mirror. dash complete, minus radio.
needs usually metal [You think?], spare well, rear floors, channels, or patch floors, do brakes, throw a 1600cc in and cruise-adding your choice or rubber (tires were shot) |

Rust buckets for $7k - $17k ?!? scary... I’m still pissed at myself for passing up on a beautiful ‘57 for $11,500 10 years ago because I didn’t think I could afford it and settled for a local ‘60 beetle for $8k and ended up spending more than that and a million hours working on it. That ‘57 was so perfect the crusty slam clan would have hated it I’m not a purist, I just happen to like stock VWs, and now I really can’t afford them because the prices are stupid. The air cooled VW hobby sure has changed since I bought my dads ‘67 kombi 40 years ago. Grew up in it going fishing and camping on the back roads of the AZ desert and up to the white mountains. Those were the days... |
