I have thought that industrial engine ID number starts by -122-? This case starting by -121-? The case is made in april 1950 and have no numbering in conventional place generator stand.

I think that what you have might be a replacement engine, not an industrial one. (I have read something on this, but don't remember where, sorry) They pulled some engines off the line without ID in the regular place so as to leave space for replacing an engine with the OG number, since those were noted on the early title documents along with the chassis number. 122 or 121 numbers off to the side if you will were a way to keep track of those industrial- replacementengines in house. Mind you I believe that the industrial engines had various differences to the normal car engines, which the replacement engines wouldn't have.

Again I do not know if the replacement engines were complete ready to go units or a version of long block and or short block set ups; nor do I know how long they they kept this system up.

Anyone else have more detailed/better info?

Eric

Thanks erioco, this sounds good. The number after 121 is 199636 which fits well to 25 Hp series numbering on april/may 1950.
