Can anyone tell me what color the 8 fuses should be, from 1 to 8.

My books say number one and eight are 16 amp fuses up to '66 Olkid

On my '64, I have "1" & "8" (two outside ones) using the red 16-amp fuses, the others are white (8-amp) fuses.

The reason for the two outer ones (red 16-amp) is for the load that's going to/from those fuses. If you notice in the fuse diagram above, the two outer ones mainly deal with ignition and battery related.

Yeah, I've run with the two outer being red before myself, on my Baja bug where I have a stereo and other things added to those outer circuits. But the owner's manual, at least the 8/61 Ghia manual archived on theSamba, which should still be the same wiring, shows them all white/8amp.
