Weird case here

3000 miles on a stock mexi 1600, 34 pict carb and
oil bath air cleaner, 019 dizzy.

Seems to be a build up of carbon dust? on the choke plate and throat
above the piss tube. However it is not in the tubing of the aircleaner
and the air cleaner is clean. it's just on choke plate and throat.
It's a brand new carb. I've also tried another carb for about 700 miles
and the same thing happened. The car runs PERFECT. I'm not fouling
plugs or running too hot. This has not affected the way the car drive in any way...yet. The fuel line, fuel filter and tank are all clean.

Even on the breather tube connected to the aircleaner is spotless.

WTF,
Tom

The clamp that holds the tube to the top of the carb is secure,
with no leaks. It seems to be coming not from the outside air but from the inside of the motor. Weird stuff.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Has it been backfiring a lot? Mine's got a similar black buildup.

No back firing at all, runs perfect.

Was running a tad rich for a little while, that might be it Question
I cleaned out the carb, again...we'll see
