I have an oil temp gauge for my 74 and was wondering if there was a "standard" place to mount it? Any suggestions?
Thanks,

When installing a single gauge, I always put it in place of the seat belt warning lamp, just to the right of the speedometer. Remove the grill and drill a circular hole to enlarge and round off the existing seat belt indicator hole...I use a doorknob drill, as it is just about the right size. My two '74 Beetles were standard Beetles, but I'm assuming that the grill is the same on the Super, but I'm not certain. |

I am thinking of a good place to stick a thermometer. If I think of any place good I'll let you know! |

I think the Super Beetle dash is different enough from the standard Beetle dash that I really can't put it to the right of the speedo. I could make a hole in the plastic on the left side of the speedo, but I was wondering if this is the normal location or if there is a better way, say to use a bracket and mount it under the dash in some way? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris |
