Yes.
It says more parts acquired on 7/20/17 so maybe he got $5K more of stuff?

Anyone seen this Competition Motors sticker it has before?
I'm curious if someone made that (faked) or if it's real.. or a repro of a real one.

Well, this seller has a problem with specifics, such as "what new parts on 7/20/17?". When he was parting the car out several months ago I was interested in "the engine" for full price but the seller stopped returning attempts to contact when I wanted to know what was included with the completely disassembled "engine". I passed thru his area twice (hundreds of miles for me) with multiple attempts to contact him, plenty of advanced notice, and his ad still running but he would never communicate so I could come look at it in person.

The competition sticker is awesome, I know someone familiar with competition motorswho I will ask to verify it.

I'm curious why there is no access door over the transmission?

The price on that car keeps going up, even before the "new parts" were acquired. It's been as low as $18,000, and still didn't sell at that, so what makes people think they'll get more? I know the guy personally, and I know at one point it was part of a divorce sale, but I have no idea where it stands on that.

Split just keep going up in price. Now it's at $37.5. If you want to sell the car why keep buying part for it. I don't get it.

And it it didn't sell at its lowest, which was $18,000, why would it sell at $37,500? It's not even a ragtop, who the hell is going to spend almost $40,000 on a HUGE project? I'm guessing nobody.

I thought that was fair. It's a cool car you could drive as is, or spend a little money to replace the incorrect parts and have a nice solid car that's all correct.

I agree!
I have a question for you Jason, I notice that your split is a standard but it has the body trim. Do you know if that was factory or someone put it on after?
Thanks in advance!

I looked it over pretty well and it doesn't look like it was added. I contacted the Wolfsburg museum to get some information on it by email because I've done it before, and they haven't gotten back to me. I know Canadian standards had trim, I was told Belgian standards had trim, and I've heard Hoffman cars usually had trim. If I hear back from the museum, I'll let you know for sure.

That would be great Jason.
I have a '50 standard Hoffman and it has the trim holes plus the birth certificate has Mcode 001 that states trim strips but I don't know what they are referring too. I'm assuming that's for the body trim but I want to be 100% sure. I'm about to begging a full pan off restoration on it. Let me know what you find out. Thanks in advance Jason.

Does this really count as a real 52 since it was built from a 64 vert body?
