^ looking at the numbers suggests a march 52 car. it's obviously had a new interior including headliner. the deck lid T handle is not correct and the bumpers should be the earlier grooved ones. looks like maybe a front valence repair/replacement and a patch on the heater channel closing plate. cant make out if those wheels are the 16 inch they should be. heater outlets should be circular(?). however a main point is that the car does not have crotch coolers which would indicate a standard model (unless they've been cut out/filled) in which case there should be no chrome, three spoke steering wheel and no grille in the front wing. was 10/11 A the standard model - I can't remember? think I can see cable brakes so maybe a standard updated with deluxe stuff? any history known, says it's from croatia?

Thanks for those comments, I think they look like 15in wheels, interesting about the standard model's lack of crotch coolers, likely the car is one of these brightened up a bit! Not aware of its history.

Kubelwagen on Ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/144780175212?hash=item21b...R5TqpMyJYQ

Was looking into this car, but backed out as the VIN is bogus and the car has no signs of the original VIN tags. There's no way this can be imported to Canada. Chassis is possibly an incorrect replacement. Many other items incorrect/missing. Seller will accept much less than buy it now price. Would be fine for a not too fussy re-enactor or as a movie prop, but not for the purist.

The story about it being used in North Africa is totally bogus. I think the body is genuine, and it is 1943 or later. By then, the North Africa campaign was pretty much done, so there weren't any late Kubels sent there. The wheels and tires are wrong for the car, but are right for a real Afrika Corp car.

The floor pan looks like a later post war pan from a split Beetle. The front beam is even later.

The engine is a 56 or later 1200cc 36hp engine.

There's a VIN tag in the engine bay, a photo of it should be shown. There should be a body number available on the top of the inner rocker panel at the rear edge of the LF door. Where's that pic?

$200 for a COPY of a 1952 owner's manual
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2597661

I'm pretty sure an original in super nice condition would be only a little more?
(Asking, don't know)

Zwitter copy too
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2597710
I know I've seen the Zwitter copy for like $45

That looks like a '58-'59 and maybe '60 standard hood. Am I Missing Something? Think

Yeap... 58-60 hood. Someone welded all the center chrome trim holes as well as the 2 parallel slots for the hood badge emblem & vw top emblem.

Who's going to be the one to tell him?

We are all confused hahaha Laughing

I've never heard or seen any of the later hoods not having any of the trim holes. I've read about such differences in early split hoods (standards vs deluxe)
But because of those side, triangular rib supports on the underside of this hood... its definitely a 58-60 and may even be up to mid 60s since majority of holes are covered.

Shocked really? no bonnet trim on standards through ovals and into the 60s
here's a 1959 standard

Hello! We found parts while treasure hunting. They are very damaged, with minimal readable information. It is possible that it was destroyed in the Second World War and could have been military. We found several smaller parts. Which forum should I send the pictures to?

Thanks for the help!

Feb 1951 Swedish Karmann Split Beetle Convertible Price: 175.000 euro, that’s $194,748.75 USD at the time of this post. Nice car, but you’ll never get back what you put in it.
