Bringing this one back to the top of the pile... We need to find out if this thing is still around. Definately one of the cooler home made vehicles. _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

Considering the size and uniqueness of this thing the chances that it has survived are slim. It was probably converted into a storage shed years ago. If it was still out there intact someone would know about it.
OTOH, it may have been inherited by a non-VW-person and be lurking in a barn waiting to be found by some lucky person. We can only hope! |

I think uzi had mentioned something about it being found in the jersey looker thread... but it's whereabouts are still fuzzy (last I heard). _________________ '69 Bug,'71 Bus,'61 Bug ,'56 Bug, '66 Panel |

I know this is an old post, but I just had to say I last saw this rig in Clinton NJ in the mid 80's. I believe it was even featured in a Hot Rod mag in the 70's.
I wonder where it is now? |

This unit was sold to Steve Wargo of Wargo Motors Clinton NJ in the early 80s.It was only ever driven in parades. It was a little underpowered but the trailer was light. The biggest problem was that it didn't have a low enough gear to get moving. A parade required alot of stop and go, so we ended up replacing the clutch disk often. It was lots of fun to drive and got alot of attention.I remember the engine was reversed to make it mid engine which made the shift pattern backwards.Steve sold it don't know who bought it or where it went. |

I though about it and I worked there in the late 70s so we had it since about 1975 I would say. Can't remember who bought it that was a long time ago. |
